We are back in Arizona. Staying at Lost Dutchman State Park. While I am happy to be back here in this familiar place and near our family I was sad that it was necessary to come back leaving our plans to be cancelled.
It is hard to continue to be sad when there is a view like this out one side of Gypsy.
And this view out the other side.
My left hip and leg had become so painful that I was unable to walk and sleep was nearly impossible because of the pain. I took as much over the counter pain meds that I dared but it didn't seem to even take the edge off. So Walt hitched up Gypsy, put me in the passenger seat amid pillows with frequent doses of ibuprofen and we headed to Arizona so I could see my Dr.
I was able to get into the Dr. promptly and after telling him that my cure had to be in a flash because I was going to Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival no matter what he set things into motion very quickly. His inital diagnosis was sciatic nerve pain that was later agreed with by the physical therapist. I was given a corticosteroid shot, Xrays, pain meds & muscle relaxants, and referred to a Pain Management Dr. and the Physical Therapist.
With all that in play I am feeling SO much better. Because the nerve may be being irritated due to a compressed disk that could cause it to happen in the future I will continue going to Physical Therapy for a couple weeks to learn how to relieve it and Pain Management to learn how to manage the pain if I am hit with it again so intensely.
It has been nice seeing our children and grandchildren.
And staying out here in the desert is so soothing. Lots of little critters and some not so little. You should hear the coyotes howling in the night.
But it is quite a drive to where all of my medical care is so we may move into an RV Park closer to the medical offices.
I know those sunsets will still go on but it is much harder to enjoy them when you have to look through structures to see them.
Hard to beat a location like this. The quiet is theraputic. But, I can't wait to be on the road to adventures again soon.

all that waiting and staying.
